AutoKAP rig for Nikon D90
Blog - Equipment
Written by Pierre Lesage
I just ordered the design (by Brooks Leffler) and construction of an autoKAP rig for a Nikon D90. Rotation will be controlled by a simple servo tester, shutter of the D90 will be controlled by a Gentled Auto with a 4 seconds interval. I plan to use it with a 10,5 mm fish eye lens. More to come in october !

Dan Leigh R8 Delta - Travel version
Blog - Equipment
Written by Pierre Lesage
Back in december 2008 when we were preparing our expedition to Namibia, we found out that the luggage trunck of the Cessna 180 were too small to bring any sort of framed kite. 20 kilos maximum, 60 centimeters maximum... it was obvious we would have to leave our faithful Dan Leigh Delta R8 at home...Just in case I contacted Dan Leigh, a remarkable craftman in the UK who builds some of the most beautiful deltas I know, to ask him if he could design a travel version of his R8 that could fit in a small 50 centimeter tube. 3 months later (if you are in a hurry don’t shop with Dan) and  a few technical chanllenges that Dan solved, I receive the travel version of the R8. It is superb and the quality is exceptionnal. During its maiden flight in San Francisco, late march 2009, next to Cris Benton’s Flow Form 30 and Scot Heffner’s Rokkaku the R8 supported some  20 knots gusts and flew remarkably well.
From Bolinas Ridge in California to the Mont St Michel, via the Namib Desert, the lagoon of Bora Bora, Paris intra muros, I now alwas travel with it.
